Approved Vocational Nursing Programs

Attention: Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technician Students and New Graduates!

The Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians is authorized to approve vocational nursing and psychiatric technician programs in California.

Pursuant to Business and Professions Code Sections 2880 and 4530, the Board prepares and maintains a list of programs which offer an approved program for vocational nurses and/or psychiatric technicians.

The Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians reminds you to schedule and take your licensure examination as soon as you receive your Authorization to Test. Your chances of success on the licensure examination will be greater if you test as soon as possible after graduation.

A list of programs that offer courses for licensed vocational nurses and psychiatric technicians which are approved by the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians can be found on the DCA License Search under Vocational Nurse Approved Program and Psychiatric Technician Approved Program License Types.

The individual programs should be contacted for information related to specific courses, course content, dates of courses, location and fees.
